Originally called the Bloody Massacre in King Street, by the Boston residents of that time, the Boston Massacre, as it is now known throughout Boston today, took place on the night of March 5, 1770.
8 British soldiers fired into a mob of civilians killing 3 straight away, and 2 died later.
This day is recreated every year in Boston at the site of the event.
