    Description

I graduated from High School and turned 18 in the spring/summer of 1965. This surfboard was given to me buy my parents at that time. I am the only owner of this board, though it has been surfed by many...
I ordered this board from the Dewey Weber Surf Shop. It's been so long I'm not sure exactly where it was at that time, maybe Venice? But possibly farther South. It is 9' 10" long and 22" wide. It was a 2" balsa stringer, a custom tail piece and a custom skag.
I went to college to UCSB in the fall of 1965 and my board was immediately stolen. Lucky for me, I had many friends also attending school there at that time. One of them saw my board among a pile of boards on a car that was parked in front of some on campus dorms. He took it off, dumping all of the boards on the ground to do so and returned it to me. Long story to explain why the serial # has been removed.
I went into the service in '66 and was gone until '69. During that time, my board was handed around among my brothers and friends. At that time is when it was mostly used. When I got out I used a shorter board and this one was relegated to the back yard, the barn, or the garage and only rarely taken out.
I've hauled it around now for over 50 years. Now I no longer have a place to store it, time to sell.
Of necessity I will not be able to ship this item. The purchaser will have to arrange pick up in Napa CA.
