    Description

This is an Estate Fresh old painting from a long time collector of New Mexico and Native American Art.  This is a nicely done Tempera ( like a Watercolor) painting of a Native American Kachina Eagle Dancer.  It is NOT a print, it is an original piece of art.   It is signed and painted by the Museum Quality artist Randy Silva, brother of Dennis, and it is dated 1972.  On the back is the title " The Dance of the Eagle " by Randy Silva Santa Clara Pueblo in Espanola NM.  This is a fantastic piece with amazing detail and lots of Santa Clara Symbolism included around the Eagle Dancer.  The colors are stunning and this is a classic example of why Randy's works are so highly sought and are on display in Museums like the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian.  The piece is framed at 16.5" x 15.5" wide.  A little history on this famous artist...
Randolph (Randy) Silva, (K'apovi) Santa Clara Pueblo Painter.  Randy was inspired by his father, Marcus, a self-taught artist and his mother, Lupita. He attributes his success to his loving parents. Randy himself has inspired many young students and emerging artists with his 30 years as an art teacher at the Santa Fe Indian School. His medium is tempera and his paintings of Indian dancers are so intricate and detailed, you have an immediate sense of connection with the subject. You can feel their energy and be inspired by their intensity. Randy describes his work as a "reflection of my beliefs". One of Randy's most recent designs is the new logo for the great seal of Santa Clara Pueblo. A lasting and meaningful legacy for Randy. A number of his paintings
are in the collection of the National Museum of the American Indian (at the Smithsonian in Washington DC ).
