FAQ - Electric Surfboard
Is 55KM/H crazy scary fast?
Yes, the speed 55 km/h is very fast. Maybe too fast. But if you are skilled at surfing and riding in a relatively quiet/open water area, you will really enjoy the extra speed. Also, you can outrun most sharks at that speed, which could be a nice benefit.
Regardless of the top speed, everyone can enjoy the increased acceleration that comes with a powerful motor.
Both boards are good to take a person as heavy as 100kg (220lbs).
How do you operate the Electric Jet Surfboard? Do I have to use the rope?
Every Electric Surfboard comes with a red rope and handle/hand throttle that allows you to control your speed and balance.
The rope serves 2 purposes:
1.) It helps you feel more secure to the board especially when there are waves. It helps the new rider to maintain the balance, but when you are good this is not necessary.
2.) The rope connects to the throttle, by pressing which you control the speed.
So you will always need to hold the throttle but can keep the rope relaxed when you are good at riding.
How will you handle service, repairs, and spare parts?
We are offering a 1 year warranty and parts are available for life. The Surfboard Powered has a modular design, which allows us to send you the broken parts for free.
In fact, most of the parts would be relatively easy to change by yourself. Otherwise, it would need to be sent to our service centers for repair or replacement.
At now we only have one service center in USA, but we got many interested distributors from Germany, France, Spain, Italy etc more to come and once they confirm the distributorship, they will become our service center as well.
What regular maintenance is required? Can I do it myself?
One of the benefits of Jet Surfboard over combustion engine surfboards is they are almost free of maintenance.
Remember to wash it thoroughly after use in the ocean and charge the battery at least every three months when not in use.
What did your reliability testing consist of?
Yes quite similar to other products which consist of aging and reliability testing of the motor, battery, controller and propulsion system etc.
What has been the main maintenance problem with similar boards and what have you learned from it?
The problem with a combustion engine jet surfboard is that they have to leave an air intake hole, by which the water is quickly getting in, and maintenance is required whenever water gets into the engine.
With a battery solution, everything is sealed, and no water would be able to get into the driving system. We also spent a ton of time to solving the battery overheating problem which many other surfboard brands struggle with.
ATTENTION:
1、Novices need to wear life jackets for the first time, and should be accompanied by professionals after  being familiar with user's manual.
2、It is necessary to ensure that the battery compartment is dry and clean before putting in the battery.
3、When charging, you need to take out the battery. The charging time is 2-3 hours at most (after the full power indicator is on).
4、After using, the board should be dry and stored in a cool and ventilated place.
5、If there are any problems, please contact us before giving negative comments, and we will actively solve them.
6、After purchase, you need to provide your phone number or email to us for facilitate logistics delivery to contact you, which is very necessary.
7、If for any reason you are not happy with your purchase we also gladly accept returns. You will receive a full refund for the cost of the merchandise less all shipping costs. Item(s) must be returned in original, unused condition within 30 days with original tags/packaging.When we receive your package we will process the return within 14 business days. Charger:
 Do not cover the charger with any material that could restrict the airflow into it in order to keep it cool. Charge only in cool and well ventilated areas.
 Do not use the charger under direct sunlight.
 Do not disassemble the Battery charger.
 Do not use in case of deterioration of any of its parts (connectors, cables, housing...).
 Recharge the Battery only with the one indicated by the manufacturer.
 Do not use the charger for any use other than its intended purpose.
 Make sure that the red and black poles are oriented correctly when inserted in the Battery connector. Reverse polarity may damage the Battery and/or charger.
 Make sure the outlet main voltage is the same as the one indicated the charger.
 Do not handle the charger with wet hands.
 Charger must be kept dry at all times.
Battery:
 Always handle the battery with care. Place it over flat and soft surfaces in order to protect the inferior housing. Always protect it well for transportation purposes.
 Never recharge the battery if it has suffered and impact, drop or is deformed due to any reason.
 Stop using the Battery if there is abnormal smell, heat, discoloration or performance.
 After every use, if it has been quickly discharged, it can reach high temperatures. In order to begin the charge it must be cooled down and you may need to wait a few minutes. This also contributes to the longevity of the pack.
 Stop charging the Battery if it doesn’t complete its charging within 2 hours from flat.
 The charging must be done in a secured place and always under supervision throughout the entire charge. Do not leave the battery unattended. Do not sleep near the battery.
 Do not charge the Battery near flammable materials.
 Do not store the battery over 20% of capacity (only the last LED should be lid).
 Do not leave the battery exposed to direct sunlight or any other form or heat generation.
 Do not leave the battery within the reach of children.
 Under no circumstances the battery should be open.
 Do not use the battery for any use other than its intended purpose.
 Avoid causing short circuit of the discharge connectors.
 Do not immerse the battery in water or any other liquids.
 Do not throw the battery away. Always use an appropriate recycling point. Please contact the manufacturer for further instructions.
 If any damage of dint is detected, discontinue its use and store it in a secured place.
 For long lasting storage, it’s recommended to frequently recharge it (every 1 or 2 months) always keeping the capacity below 20%.
 Do not expose the battery to temperatures over 50°C or 120°F.
 Do not leave the battery plugged after a complete charge.
 The battery level indicated on the Wireless controller may not be an exact value. This is due to a reading of the voltage and this consequently depends on the discharge to which is subject to. The LED indicator of the battery, near the charging connectors shows an accurate measurement of the battery capacity.
 Do not plug or unplug the battery to the charger if it´s not connected to the power outlet source.
 Do not incinerate the Battery pack even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. The Battery pack can explode in a fire. Toxic fumes and materials are created when lithium ion Battery packs are burned.
