    Description

    we believe this to be an early ice skating bench that was pulled on the ice then you sat on it to put on your skates.    the length is 17 1/2 inches by 10 inches wide and 12 1/2 inches high at the arching top.  weight is about 6 1/2 pounds.  runners do look hand made.   The bench is a well built hand made piece.  Could also be a sled or other snow / ice utility piece but we found it in a barn with two pairs of early ice skates with curly tips on it.  The nails in the runners have some age.  bench in good shape with some wear.  The runners do have some rust and are very dulled.
